Public employment service office (PESO) manager Engr. Joseph ‘Vince’ Quipot VI said the 1-day jobs fair at the city commercial center (C3) is among the lined up activities for the annual fiesta celebration.
The program is in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Technical Education Skills and Development Authority, and Pagadian Association of Recruitment Agencies Local and Overseas.
“As a way of giving thanks and sharing to the public the blessings that God has richly endowed the city, the jobs fair is regularly conducted during fiesta and founding anniversary,” Quipot said.
With large number of job vacancies offered by 23 placement agencies, Quipot is optimistic that many applicants will be hired on the spot. “A direct matching was done during the event where the employers and applicants met,” Quipot added.
Quipot said the PESO facilitated the pre-registration of applicants since Jan. 2-6 to help job seekers find job that would match their skills.
Asked if the activity is open to all applicants, Quipot said it is open to
all. “In fact, some of the applicants are from Lanao del Norte, Zamboanga del Norte, and Zamboanga Sibugay,” Quipot reported.
The jobs fair which is a flagship program under the administration of Mayor Samuel Co is graced by DOLE asst. regional director Virginia L. Bonbon and fist lady Priscilla Ann Co.
