DIPOLOG CITY, Jan. 13 (PIA) - - Provincial Small and Medium Enterprise Development Council (PSMEDC)-Zamboanga del Norte outgoing chairman Michael Malacca has expressed his gratitude to the local government units (LGUs), national government agencies (NGAs) and non-government organizations (NGOs) for their support extended to the council during his term.
Malacca said in a meeting yesterday he could not have accomplished a lot as PSMEDC chairman were it not for the support of the NGAs, LGUs, NGOs and the business sector.
During Malacca’s term, the council was not only active in pursuing the development of the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the province but also in crafting solutions to some pressing concerns such as the power problem in Mindanao, illegal fishing and other environmental issues.
He also mentioned that the council had come up with various resolutions addressed to certain government agencies to immediately respond to some problems/issues confronting the public especially the business sector.
Malacca has been succeeded by Atty. Paul Gudmalin who is also the current president of the Dipolog Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI).
PSMEDC is under the tutelage of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) whose membership is composed of NGAs, LGUs, NGOs and business leaders. (FPG/PIA-Zamboanga del Norte)
