Pagadian City, Feb. 15 (PIA) – Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Zamboanga del Sur 1st District Engineering Office will implement this year eleven (11) various infrastructure projects under the CY 2012 regular infra program, with an aggregate cost of P334.5 million.
District Engineer Alan D. Arumpac said the P334.5 million budget allocation will cover several road upgrading (gravel to concrete) and preventive maintenance (asphalt overlay projects) which covers several municipalities in Zamboanga del Sur.
The projects were already bidded-out and issued notice to commence work and be completed on or before September 30, 2012 as per DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson’s directive.
Also lined-up for implementation this year are the rehab/widening of the road leading to the to the city's airport, widening and strengthening of Labangan bridge and the construction of Licabang (Dipolo) bridge in Mahayag to be implemented by the DPWH Regional Office.
Engineer Arumpac also disclosed that aside from these regular infra projects, other infrastructure developments and improvements will also be implemented like multi-purpose buildings, flood controls, concreting of barangay roads, school buildings and other related projects of which funding will come from the priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of Congressman Victor Yu of the first district of the province.
