DIPOLOG CITY, Feb. 14 (PIA) - - As part of this city’s Public Safety Plan (PSP), the city council has directed this week the Dipolog City Water District (DCWD) to come up with its own security plan to ensure the safety of the water being supplied to its consumers.
In its regular session held Tuesday, the city council called on the DCWD management to protect its water sources against bad elements who might try to sabotage the water supply in the city.
City councilor James Cyril Ruiz raised the issue that water sources could be targets of terror groups to sow chaos “especially that election time is fast approaching.”
It can be recalled that the city government is now in the process of crafting it comprehensive public safety plan which aims to give its constituents utmost protection against terror groups as well as natural and man-made calamities.
DCWD is now maintaining six wells situated in barangays Gulayon, Sta. Isabel and Galas. (FPG/PIA-Zamboanga del Norte)
