Pagadian City, Feb. 15 (PIA) – Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) IX early this month convened all its District Engineers along with their respective chiefs of Construction Section and Monitoring Engineers in the region for a Regional Monthly Staff Conference held at Mandale Hotel, this city.
The conference was called for to discuss the status of programs and projects implemented by the different districts to include the carry-over projects for calendar year 2012. Each district engineers were given a time to report and explain their reports on the status of various projects in their respective district offices.
The activity was hosted by the Zamboanga del Sur 1st Engineering District Office, based in the city. The participants were warmly welcomed by District Engineer Alan Arumpac, attended by DPWH Regional Director Jeorge Sabastian, Jr., Regional Administrative Officer Rose Marie Ajawie with other regional and district personnel and staffs.
During the conference, Director Sebastian instructed all the district engineers to fastrack and finish all their projects on or before the target date of completion. He also said that all 2012 projects implemented by the district offices shall be completed on or before September 30, 2012, as per memorandum issued by DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson.
To restore the energy and keep the guests and visitors alive, a dance and song numbers were performed by selected employees of the host district during lunchtime. A slide show was also presented featuring the different projects and activities undertaken by the host district. (DPWH-9/QS/PIA-9/CAL)
