DIPOLOG CITY, JULY
3(PIA)--- It’s all
systems go for the conduct of an enhanced SME Caravan on July 4-5,2012 in
Dipolog City.
This
was the pronouncement of Engr. Victoriano Miranda Jr., of the Provincial Office
of the Department of Trade and Industry in Zamboanga del Norte.
The
two-day caravan which will be held at C & L Sea View Hotel, Quezon Avenue, Dipolog
City aims to gather businessmen and concerned government
agencies in one place and make the public aware of its programs.
One
the first day, personalities from the Intellectual Property Office of the
Philippines from Manila will discuss about the Branding and Intellectual
Property system.
Inventors
who want their inventions patented, businessmen who want to register the brand
of their products, company logo or trade mark, including writers who want to
enrich their knowledge on copyright will be informed on the requirements for
registration.
Other
topics which are expected to discussed will include 2012 Product Design Trends
and PDDCP services which will be discussed by the personnel from the Product Development
and Design Center of the Phils (PDDCP), one-on-one consultation on product
improvement through design innovation, product packaging and labeling.
On
the second day, experts from the Philippine Trade Center in Manila will be
discussing about Visual Merchandising to be coupled with workshop on booth
dressing, which will be beneficial for those who want to participate in a trade
fair.
The
government agencies supporting the two-day undertaking are the Dept. of Science
and Technology(DOST), Dept. of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Technical Education
and Skills Development Authority(TESDA), Dept. of Agriculture(DA), Bureau of
Fisheries and Aquatic Resources(BFAR), Phil. Coconut Authority(PCA),Phil. Information
Agency(PIA), and Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), with one-on-one
consultation on product development with the members of the MSME Caravan Team.

two-day caravan is free of registration. Interested parties are advised to
