WESCOM, 6CRG hold lecture on IPSP “Bayanihan” to PAF reservists, ROTC cadets

ISABELA CITY, Basilan, Mar 23 (PIA) – Western Command (WESCOM) and 6th Civil Relations Group, Civil Relations Services of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (6CRG, CRSAFP) conducted a lecture and film showing on Internal Peace and Security Plan (IPSP) “BAYANIHAN” last 11 March 2012 to the Philippine Air Force reservists and ROTC cadets of Puerto Princesa City in connection with the National Reservists’ Week. The particular activity was held at 570th Composite Tactical Wing (570th CTW) grandstand.

The affair was graced by Col. Raymundo DV Elefante (GSC) PAF, Deputy Commander of 570th Composite Tactical Wing (570th CTW) as the guest of honor and speaker.

The mission of the reserve command is to develop, organize, train, administer and sustain reserve manpower build-up of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Reserve Force as a base for rapid expansion of the AFP and to participate in socio-economic development efforts.

The said activity aims to ensure deeper understanding of the IPSP’s ultimate goal and mission and for them to know their individual role as stakeholder.

The Internal Peace and Security Plan (IPSP) “Bayanihan” which promulgates the cooperation and unity of the citizenry to bring progress and development to the community towards achieving the ultimate goal of “Winning the Peace”. It takes a paradigm shift from the traditional military method of addressing peace and security issues and places heavy emphasis instead on civil military operations and this was implemented last year and will be in effect until 2016.
  
The total participants of the said activity numbered to more than 101 PAF Reservists and 44 ROTC cadets from 3 different schools such as Holy Trinity University (HTU), Full Bright College and Palawan Technological College Inc. (PTCI). (6CRGAFP/RVC-PIA-9 ZBST)
