DIPOLOG CITY, March 27 (PIA) - - The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through its Kapit-bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) has recently released P14 million to Roxas municipality for the implementation of anti-poverty projects.
Mayor Eduardo E. Yebes said all barangays would get a share of the funding provided they get their counterpart funds/equity ready.
He also urged all barangay chairmen to set aside politics in the implementation of KALAHI-CIDSS projects to better serve their constituents.
KALAHI-CIDSS uses the community-driven development (CDD) approach empowering ordinary community members to actively participate in local governance by identifying their needs as well as planning, implementing, managing and sustaining community projects to address poverty.
Most of the infrastructure projects implemented using KALAHI-CIDSS funds include water systems, roads, school buildings, barangay health stations and day-care centers built at lower costs than non-CDD projects. (FPG/PIA-Zamboanga del Norte)
