Pagadian City, Mar 5 (PIA) – Thirty Nine (39) towns in the Zamboanga Peninsula Region has been slated by the Land Management Services of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-9) for its enhanced Cadastral Survey Program this 2012.
Regional Executive Director Arleigh Adorable disclosed that per instruction of DENR Secretary Ramon Paje, the cadastral survey programmed for 2011-2016 will be implemented, hastened and enhanced in the region.
RED Adorable expounded that some of the benefits that may result upon completion of the cadastral survey in a particular area include agricultural development, realization of Municipal Land Use Plan (MULP) and more accurate tax mapping.
Cadastral Act No. 2259 which govern cadastral survey aims primarily for the purpose of acquiring title to any land within a particular area by way of compulsory registration proceedings and thus minimizes land conflicts. The owners of lots surveyed must lay claim to their holdings and must prove their ownership during the subsequent court proceedings because failure on their part to do so may give the court no choice but to declare these lands as public lands, Adorable added.
According to Land Management Services Regional Technical Director Moises Butic, sixteen towns in Zamboanga del Sur will be surveyed namely: Pagadian City, Dumingag, Sominot, Midsalip, Molave, Tambulig, Tigbao, Kumalarang, Lapuyan, Lakewood, Bayog, Dinas, Dimataling, San Pablo, Pitogo and Tabina.
In the case of Zamboanga del Norte, fourteen towns are slated to be covered by the survey program namely; Rizal, La Libertad, Piñan, Mutia, President M. Roxas, Manukan, Godod, Gutalac, Kalawit, Baliguian, Sirawai, Sibuco and Sindangan.
Nine towns in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay will likewise be surveyed namely: Diplahan, Malangas, Imelda, Mabuhay, Olutanga, Siay, Kabasalan, Naga and R.T. Lim.
The 98 barangays in the 1st and 2nd congressional districts of Zamboanga City will also be the subject of the enhanced cadastral program, RTD Butic concluded.
DENR-IX Regional Bids and Awards Committee (RBAC) have already posted these cadastral projects at PhilGeps and DENR-IX websites and published in a newspaper of national circulation. The reconstituted RBAC members have also scheduled pre-conference for interested and qualified contractors last February 16, 2012. Opening of bids was set on March 5, 2012.
