DIPOLOG CITY, Feb. 6 (PIA) – The Federation of Local Councils of Women (PFLCW) has recently commended the lady mayor here for pursuing good governance resulting in the growth and development of the city.
Mayor Evelyn T. Uy has received such an accolade during the 9th PFLCW general assembly held in Zamboanga City last week with the theme, “Good Governance: Antidote to Corruption.”
As the chief executive, Mayor Uy adopted good governance in the implementation of the city’s programs, services and projects.
“Good governance has really yielded positive results for the city of Dipolog, as the city government has been able to adequately provide the needs of the city populace ranging from infrastructure, social and health services to security,” declared the lady mayor.
The City Information Office (CIO), on the other hand, reported that the funds of the city government have been properly appropriated and utilized according to approved plans and programs with utmost transparency.
The city leadership has also prioritized livelihood programs by providing the unemployed especially the housewives with skills training through its Livelihood and Skills Development Center (LSDEC) in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) and non-government organization (NGOS).
