PAGADIAN CITY, January 14 (PIA) -- To give performers a well-deserved rest after the week-long celebration of the ‘Pasalamat’ festival, President Benigno Simeon S. Aquino declared a special non-working holiday in the city of Pagadian on January 16.
In proclamation no. 108 issued by the President on January 5, it said the city of Pagadian celebrates its annual city fiesta dubbed “Pasalamat” festival on January 7-16, 2012.
“To enable the people of the city of Pagadian to fully participate in the occasion, the office of the city mayor requested that Monday, January 16, 2012 be declared as special (non-working) day,” the proclamation said.
The President said he declared January 16 a special nonworking day to “give full opportunity to our people to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies”.
The proclamation was signed for President Benigno Aquino III by Executive Secretary Paquito N. Ochoa Jr.
