ZAMBOANGA
CITY – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte will be in the city this afternoon
after his short visit to Isabela City, Basilan at around 2 in the afternoon to
talk with government troops at the Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom).
According
to Wesmincom spokesperson Major Filemon Tan, President Duterte is set to meet
with officials of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine
National Police (PNP) regarding security in the region. No further details were
provided as of this writing.
Meanwhile,
the President will also meet with the wounded soldiers at the Camp Navarro
General Hospital. Major Tan said there is a possibility that he will award said
soldiers during his short visit. The President will be leaving for Davao City
at around 4:45 in the afternoon.
This is President
Duterte’s first visit to Zamboanga City as president of the republic.
