DSWD to conduct special assessment of households for Pantawid Pamilya inclusion

By Dominic I. Sanchez

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Some 23,171 families that have requested to be included in the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program in the region, including Isabela City will be visited by Listahanan enumerators tasked to assess if said households are genuinely poor within the coming weeks.

Listahanan, a special project implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) seeks to identify poor families nationwide who are eligible to become beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilya.

In a press release, Listahanan Information Officer Fung Kay Choi shared that 93 field staff composed of area supervisors and enumerators were already trained for this special assessment.

“The enumerators and supervisors were given an orientation last month. They will immediately be deployed to their respective areas as soon as the Family Assessment Forms (FAF) are available,” Choi explained.

The FAFs are composed of four pages with 52 variables that would help determine if a family is genuinely poor, as well as to determine other relevant data about the household.

Meanwhile, the DSWD is now preparing for the second round of national assessment of poor families for Listahanan. According to Choi, 688,495 families will be assessed in Western Mindanao for possible inclusion in the conditional cash grants of the national government.

“We still do not have an exact date for the second assessment, but we are targeting it to be conducted within the quarter,” Choi said.
