DIPOLOG CITY – All is set for the annual provincial schools’ press conference on Dec.
5-6, 2013 at the Teachers’ Gym here in the city.
Dr. Fe Jebone-Lakian,
English supervisor of the provincial schools division, disclosed that public
and private elementary and secondary schools in the province are going to
participate in the said press conference.
The activity involves
lectures on newswriting, feature writing, editorial writing, sports writing,
science and technology writing, editorial cartoon and others with active media
practitioners and journalism teachers as resource speakers.
Individual writing
competitions will also be given to the student-participants in newswriting,
feature writing, editorial writing, sports writing, science and technology
writing, copyreading and headline writing both in English and Filipino.
All division winners
will vie for similar writing competitions in the regional schools’ press
conference to be held next week at the Farmers’ Haven, Provincial Government
Center (PGC), Dao, Pagadian City.
Regional English
Supervisor Visminda Valde said the participants to the regional press
conference will be billeted at the Governor’s Garden, a place within the PGC.
This year’s theme is “Campus
Journalism and Transformational Leadership.”
For the past years,
Zamboanga del Norte school division has consistently produced qualifiers for
the national schools’ press conference and many of them managed to get top
