DIPOLOG
CITY – The Zamboanga del Norte Provincial
Library and Information Center (ZNPLIC)
has
recently received communication and educational equipment from the US embassy
in Manila through Thomas Jefferson Information Center’s program dubbed “embassy
bucks.”
The
grant amounting to $ 1,000.00 consists of equipment such as 32 inches LED flat
screen colored television and computer set.
These
donations will be placed in the “learning salon” located at the second floor of
the building and will be used in news writing workshops and storytelling for
elementary and secondary students.
ZNPLIC
is the only recognized “library kiosk” in the entire region. It constantly
receives donations like books, posters, pamphlets and other reading
materials.
A
Kindle 3G+wifi has been installed, a donation from the US Embassy, was also
installed inside the library particularly at the American corner
The
library will soon have its LCD projector to be used in trainings, workshops, film
showing and similar activities.
This
undertaking of the US embassy aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of
intellectual consumers in relation to the importance of social networking tools
with the traditional and new media.
ZNPLIC was also recognized
as one of the “2012 five most outstanding provincial libraries” in the country.
