DIPOLOG
CITY - Job order workers of the provincial government of
Zamboanga del Norte have all the reasons to smile these days as they will
receive an increase in their daily wages effective Jan. 1 next year.
In
its regular session recently, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) has agreed to
raise the daily wage of the job order workers from P260 to P312 or an increase
of P62, as incorporated in the newly approved executive budget of the
provincial government for fiscal year 2014.
Earlier
Board Member Romulo Soliva of the province’s second district who chairs the
committee on finance and appropriation pushed for the passage of the provincial
budget for 2014 worth P1,610,582,418 as contained in his Committee Report of
the Whole No. 13-01.
It
could be recalled that upon their assumption to office and having learned that
the job order employees are only receiving P260 a day, both Governor Roberto Uy
and Vice Governor Senen Angeles have pushed for the increase in job orders’
salary.
Governor
Uy hopes that the approved daily wage increase will serve as a motivation to
the workers of the provincial government to do their work better.
