DIPOLOG CITY, Feb. 14
(PIA) - - As the country recently registered a Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
growth of 6.6 percent, Congressman Rosendo S. Labadlabad of the second district
of Zamboanga del Norte has attributed it to President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino
III’s good governance.
Speaking at a gathering
of local and community leaders here with President Aquino as guest of honor,
Cong. Labadlabad said “the stellar performance of the Philippine economy
nowadays is a result of PNoy’s good governance.”
“Good governance is
good economics,” said the congressman who is also a crusader against graft and
corruption.
Labadlabad also
commended the President for his efforts at “enhancing peace in Mindanao” with
the signing of the framework agreement between the government and Moro Islamic
Liberation Front (MILF) last year.
According to Labadlabad,
the national government had given millions of projects in his district such as
the P620.5-million Sindangan-Siayan-Mahayag road, P86-million Dipolog
City-Sergio Osmena-Pagadian City road, P343.9-million irrigation project and
many others.
“The construction of a
new airport terminal building at Dipolog Airport will also begin soon,” said
Labadlabad, adding that the bidding for this project was already done.
He concluded his speech
by saying, “We will not waiver our resolve to promote good governance.”
