PAGADIAN CITY, 6 FEB. (PIA) - - in line
with its thrust to provide all its members with decent homes which they can
call “their own, the Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF) or PAG-IBIG Fund
Zamboanga City Branch, takes another milestone in bringing its thrust into
action with the recent signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the
Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) Faculty Union (Association).
The MOA paves the way for the development of a
housing project for the benefit of the Association’s members, informed Cora
Mamauag, Chief, Marketing and Enforcement Division, PAG-IBIG.
“The agreement, signed in a simple ceremony held at
the WMSU campus, Zamboanga City, is made in line with the thrust of the Fund to
reach out to all its members and provide them with the opportunity to own
houses of their own through affordable and flexible schemes,” Mamauag said in a
press statement.
“Through this program the Fund grants loans under
its Group Housing Loan Program (GHLP) to a qualified group such as the
Association for the development of its real property into a subdivision project
in joint venture with a qualified housing project developer,” Mamauag further
said.
Mamauag said WMSU President Dr. Milabel Enriquez-Ho
is delighted of this new partnership as “members of the WMSU faculty and the
University’s support staff will now have opportunity to own houses through
housing loans that offer the lowest interest rates in the industry and the
easiest payment schedules.”
“Pres. Ho
envisioned creating a community where the WMSU employees can have decent and
comfortable living spaces but could not find the right institution to finance
the project until the Pag-IBIG Fund offered to assist in realizing this venture,
Mamauag informed.
“This is a dream come true for them,” she cited.
The MOA was entered into by and between PAG-IBIG
Fund represented by its Vice-President for Mindanao Operations Fermin A. Sta.
Teresa, Jr. and its branch head Cesar C. Bazan
and WMSU Faculty Union
(Association) represented by its President Edgar R. Araojo and its University
President Dr. Milabel Enriquez-Ho. (JPA/PIA9)
