DIPOLOG CITY, June
15 (PIA) - - Regular members of the Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Peace and
Order Council (PPOC) have met here yesterday for the creation of the
PAMANA-DILG Fund Technical Working Group (TWG).
This TWG is tasked
with monitoring the implementation of Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA)
projects in selected municipalities of the province specifically the so-called
conflict areas.
It was learned that
the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) was tapped by the Office
of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) in the implementation
of the Pillar 3 component of the PAMANA projects.
Pillar 3 focuses on
the provision of infrastructure support to people living in the identified
conflict areas.
In Zamboanga del
Norte, the recipient-towns of Pillar 3 projects are Sirawai and Siocon.
The infrastructure
projects to be implemented under Pillar 3 include irrigation systems, potable
water systems, roads, bridges, electrification projects, postharvest
facilities, ports, Halal production facilities, among others.
The newly formed
PAMANA-DILG Fund TWG is chaired by the DILG with the Provincial Governor’s
Office (PGO), National Irrigation Administration (NIA), Provincial Planning and
Development Office (PPDO), Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA),
Provincial Engineering Office (PEO), Provincial Social Welfare and Development
Office (PSWDO) and a Non-government Organization (NGO) as members.
