DIPOLOG CITY, MAY
8(PIA) --- The Philippine
Red Cross, Zamboanga del Norte Chapter joins the whole world in the celebration
of the World Red Cross and Red Crescent as it acknowledges donations and support
coming from various institutions and individuals that help them to become more effective
in the performance of their task in saving lives and helping communities.
PRC-Zanorte
Chapter Administrator Joshua Bicoy, together with PRC Board of directors
Chairperson, Engr. Socorro Hamac received four(4) nebulizer machines donated by
the Zamboanga del Norte Association of Illinois (ZAMNAI) through Provincial
Health officer, Dr. Eduardo Luayon during the flag-raising ceremony at the
Provincial Capitol Complex yesterday morning.
The
acceptance of donation was witnessed by the Chiefs of Office and employees of
the Provincial Government headed by Provincial Administrator Atty. Rafael
Cabanlit who represented Governor Rolando E. Yebes.
Bicoy
thanked Gov. Yebes for signing the deed of donation for the 800-square meter
lot worth more or less one-million pesos donated by the Provincial Government
for the official and permanent site of the local Philippine Red Cross.
The
local PRC Administrator also acknowledged other donations and assistance like
the PhP50,000.00 donated by the Local Government Unit of Leon Postigo through
Mayor Rolando Tablezo; Blood Mobile and Emergency Response Motorcycle from Engr. Rey Villanueva, an Overseas
Filipino Worker; and the Rubber boat
from the International Federation of the
Red Cross.
Bicoy
said these equipment would enhance the capability of the Red Cross in doing its
mandate to save lives and extend assistance to the people especially to the victims
of calamity.
Meanwhile,
the local PRC reiterated its appeal to those who wish to donate blood, that a
blood letting activity is now going-on at the Lee Plaza Central in Dipolog City
