DIPOLOG CITY, MARCH 26(PIA)---The TESDA SPECIALISTA TECHNOPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM is now in place all over the province of Zamboanga del Norte
This developed after the Provincial Office of the Technical Educations and Skills Development Authority in Zamboanga del Norte has grouped all its trained and certified graduates based on their field of qualifications to start a new enterprise.
The TESDA SPECIALISTA TECHNOPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM, is created to provide employment opportunities to TESDAs’ technological and vocational graduates.
TESDA Director-General Emmanuel “Joel” Villanueva launched the TESDA SPECIALISTA TECHNOPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM last February 11, 2012, with the support from President Benigno Aquino III to provide its certified graduates with other employment opportunities.
Under the program, the TESDA will group ten graduates of identified services and provide them starter kits, vests and bags worth PhP60,000.00 to start their new enterprise, which they themselves will manage.
In Zamboanga del Norte, TESDA Provincial Director Nilda C. Espiritusanto has formed five (5) groups.
These include The Power Build Specialist(PBS), based in Sindangan which offers Building/House Repair and Maintenance Services composed four (4) electricians, 2 plumbers, 2 masons and 2 carpenters; the Health and Wellness Workers (HAWWS) based in Dapitan City which offers Massage therapy and Beauty Care Services; the General Automotive Services (GAS) based in Liloy which offers automotive mechanic (troubleshooting) and Small Engine Repair; the Vincentian’s which offers Caregiving Services and the i-Tek which offers Computer Hardware Servicing.
Espiritu also asked the assistance of the Local Government Units (LGUs) like the Municipal Mayor of Sindangan and Private Sectors to help in nurturing the identified TESDA Specialistas and provide them more techniques to handle at the same time, promote the established enterprise. The program will have six (6) months of incubation period that includes nurturing, mentoring and quality customer service training to sustain the enterprise.
Espiritu hoped that the program would not only change the lives of the fifty(50) individuals but also give better future for their families.(ATR/PIA9-Zambo Norte)
