ZAMBOANGA CITY, Jan. 11 (PIA 9) - - A 40-seater and 30-seater brand new buses worth over P8 million were purchased by the city to help in the tourism promotion and at the same serve its purpose during official functions.
City Information Officer (IO) Sheila Covarrubias said the two buses will have many uses like “bringing around out of town visitors who come to Zamboanga for educational tours or “Lakbay aral”; mass transport of people for official functions and numerous other purposes.”
“The purchase of the vehicles is authorized by the City Council and is included in the 2011 budget,” Covarrubias expressed.
Covarrubias said the vehicles were delivered here in Zamboanga last December but the blessing/inauguration was held first week of January, in time with the First Friday Mass of the year. (JPA /PIA - ZBST)
