PAGADIAN CITY, Nov. 21 (PIA) -– Nine (9) beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Zamboanga City were recently hired by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office IX Regional Director Teodulo R. Romo, Jr. disclosed.
Romo said the hiring was an offshoot of a memorandum of agreement (MOA) signed by both national agencies in recognition of the need to converge efforts to alleviate the plight of the poorest of the poor.
Accordingly, the hired beneficiaries will be assigned in the maintenance department which is task to conduct maintenance works along the national roads in the city and shall received their wages according to the provisions in the MOA.
Meanwhile, Director Romo also revealed that collaborations are still going on with other national and local agencies to include the private organizations to explore possible employment for these beneficiaries with the end goal of augmenting their daily income and increasing their capability to carry out their roles as responsible parents and contributor to nation-building.(JPA/SMU-NZB/DSWD9/CAL/PIA9/ZamboSur)
