ZAMBOANGA CITY, Nov. 19 (PIA) - - Managers and owners of business establishments in the city are urged to start processing applications for renewal of business permits before the January 20, 2012 deadline.
This call was made by City Mayor Celso Lobregat to business owners for the latter to avoid the rush and payment of penalties based of existing laws.
City Information Officer Sheila Covarrubias said Permits and Licensing Division of the City has been accepting applications for renewal of business permits for 2012 since October.
“Late payment will mean a surcharge of 25 percent and 2 percent additional penalty for every month of delay,” Covarrubias said.
Under the law, January 20 is the deadline set for the renewal process and payment of business taxes.
“Business permit renewal applicants are advised to bring the original business permit for the year 2010 as basis for renewal,” Covarrubias said.(JPA/PIA-ZBST)
