ZAMBOANGA CITY, Sept. 5 (PIA) -- Farmers and fisher folks sectors here will soon have its own livelihood training center as the city government approved in principle its proposed establishment.
City Mayor Celso Lobregat said the livelihood center is his administration’s support and assistance to the concerned sector.
In a press statement, City Information Officer Sheila Covarrubias said the proposed center will be the existing building presently occupied and used as Agricultural Field Office (AFO) located in Barangay Tumaga, just adjacent to the City Agriculturist Office (CAO).
In the event of the proposed center’s establishment and operation, “personnel of the AFO will be accommodated by the CAO,” Covarrubias said.
Covarrubias explained, “The livelihood training center will be a venue for famers and fisherfolks to expand technical skills and knowledge concerning income-generating activities.”
“It will be supervised and managed by the City Agriculturist Office,” she added. (JPA/PIA 9-Zambo City)
