Zanorte, in full-blast preparation for Hudyaka 2012

DIPOLOG CITY, APR. 18(PIA)--- With barely over a month before the holding of the Hudyaka Festival 2012, the Hudyaka Committee of the Zamboanga del Norte is now having a hectic schedule in its preparation for the said event.

The 2012 Hudyaka Festival which coincides with the grand Founding Anniversary of the province official open on May 30 with a colorful costume parade around Dipolog City to be participated in by a total 27 Local Government Unit, national agencies and private institutions.

After the parade, there will be a concert featuring the national renowned singer Sitti and the band Pupil, fronted  by former Eraserheads vocalist and song-writer Ely Buendia which will be held at the Hudyaka Agro-Industrial complex.

Provincial Tourism Officer, Atty. Ivan Patrick Ang said the Provincial Tourism is going all-out in their preparation for the 2012 Hudyaka Festival to make it the best ever Festival during the three-terms of Governor Rolando Yebes.

The opening parade on May 30 will kick-off from the Capitol Plaza at about 4o’clock in the afternoon Ang added that this year’s Hudyaka Festival eyes for the Best Festival award all over the country.

It can be recalled that Hudyaka Festival has been awarded for three
 consecutive  years third place inThe Best Provincial Festival in the Philippines
 by the Dept. of Tourism and theAssociation of Tourism Officer of the 
Philippines.

Among the prizes include PhP 50,000.00  for the Best LGU; Php50,000.00 for 
theBest NGO/Private Institution and PhP40,000.00 for the Best School.

On June 6, there will be an electric float parade, where all the floats are to be

decorated with indigenous materials .

The Champion will take home PhP50.000.00; PhP30,000 for the second prize 
andPhP20,000.00 for the third prize (ATR/PIA9-Zambo Norte)
