DIPOLOG CITY, March 2(PIA) - - Congressman Rosendo S. Labadlabad of the second district of Zamboanga del Norte led Thursday the groundbreaking of eight infrastructure projects to be constructed in this city and the municipalities of Katipunan, Roxas, Manukan, Sindangan and Siayan.
Joining the congressman were personnel from the first engineering district of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) headed by Engr. Leoncio B. Solamillo, city, municipal and barangay officials, media practitioners, students and other stakeholders.
Labadlabad led the capsule laying at the starting point of Turno-Galas-Sinaman bypass road which recently received an initial funding of P45 million. A total of P200 million has been earmarked for this project.
The congressman immediately proceeded to barangay Marupay in Roxas town and Katipunan National High School in Katipunan municipality to separately administer the groundbreaking for the construction of two covered courts worth P1.5 million each.
Other projects Labadlabad has given to his district include a covered court worth P250,000 at sitio Diwait in barangay Tabon of Jose Dalman town, continuation of the construction of Sindangan Cultural and Sports Center with an initial appropriation of P13 million, upgrading of Sindangan-Siayan-Mahayag national road with P 379 million allocation, and the construction of Piao bridge approaches along barangay Poblacion to Decoyong in Sindangan town with P14.9 million allotment.
Cong. Labadlabad also announced that P110 million has been set aside for the improvement of the Dipolog irrigation project and another P175 million for the expansion of Dipolog airport. (FPG/PIA-Zamboanga del Norte)
