DIPOLOG CITY, MAR. 4(PIA)--- The Department of Social Welfare and Development is warning the public, particularly the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries of the text messages that have been spreading lately.
According to the text message, Pantawid is giving is giving away prizes to its beneficiaries once they will call the number that will appear on their cellphone.
Ms. Glynda P. Torculas, 4Ps Administrative Assistant II said, Mr. Jose D. Cruz, 4Ps Provincial Link in Zamboanga del Norte, thru a text message instructed her to inform the 4Ps beneficiaries of the text coming from unscrupulous individuals who pretend to be officials of DSWD handling the program.
Mr. Cruz stressed that 4Ps is not and never give away prizes to its beneficiaries or has given authorization to any individual or group of individuals to act in their behalf for this purpose.
The warning was issued by Cruz after being informed that this has illegal activities have spreading in Luzon lately.
So to void to become the first victim of this text scam in Zamboanga del Norte, Cruz urges those who receive this kind of a text message report to the nearest DSWD office or inform the office thru a text message to this mobile phone number 09189122813.(ATR/PIA9-Zambo Norte)
