PAGADIAN CITY - Close to 500 families
have availed themselves of free medical
and dental services held recently by the Philippine National Police (PNP)-9 at
the Stadium Hall of the Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and
Technology (ZSCMS), Barangay Rio Hondo, Zamboanga City.
In a press release issued by PNP-9, some 429 poor
patients comprising children, young adults and senior citizens were served
during the said activity broken down as follows: tooth extraction – 150,
medical checkup-100, circumcision – 94 and haircut.

Juanito Vaño Jr. disclosed that the medical-dental outreach program has been
part of the PNP’s community relations service to help the disadvantaged sectors
in the community.
“Gusto ko iparating sa inyo na bahagi ito ng ating
mga programa ng kapulisan ng region 9, ang makipag-ugnayan sa ating kumunidad.
Gusto naming ipaalam sa inyo na ibibigay ng taos-pusong serbisyo sa inyo, upang
maging maayos at matiwasay an ating kumunidad (I would like to inform you that
this is part of PNP-9’s programs in reaching out to the communities and to let
them know of our genuine services to attain peaceful and orderly communities),”
Vaño said.
The Western Mindanao police chief also expressed
his thanks to ZSCMST management headed by Dr. Milabel Lazario for the venue and
to the Police Regional Office-9 (PRO9) Ladies Club led by his wife, Dr. Arlene
Vaño and the Regional Medical and Dental Office headed by PSupt. Abita A. Mates
for making the program a success.
He also cited the support extended by Rio Hondo
Barangay Chair Hadji Rusdi Mukaram and Mariki Barangay Chair Palma H. Hashim.
