Speaking before the health professionals, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Ma. Rovel Blancia said the activity is part of the country's achievement in reaching the Millenium Development Goals (MDG) by 2015 especially in goals 4 and 5, reduce child mortality and improve maternal health, respectively.

Blancia said the sustainability planning is being conducted to generate consensus and commitment from among health sector stakeholders.

During the planning session, Blancia said health professionals were asked to examine the activities that were implemented by the annually by the health professionals in the health care delivery system.

“They were asked if they wish to continue the activities and trainings and IEC materials that are effective, and discard or change those who were no longer needed,” she added.

Blancia said that in the health care delivery system there is a need to have qualified and responsive competitive health workers and available facilities available to deliver quality, effective and efficient healthcare service to the public.

The IPHO chief said in attaining quality and effective health care, there is a need to change the behavior of health care stakeholders by making them aware on the health services offered to them and how to access health care system saying that healthcare usually starts from the family.(JPA/GCC-PIA9 ZamboSur)
