DIPOLOG CITY, May
23 (PIA)- - Having seen the exemplary performance of this city’s chief
executive, the Philippine College of Criminology has recently conferred on
Mayor Evelyn T. Uy Doctor of Humanities (Honoris Causa).
Mayor Uy who was
once a graduate student of said learning institution was conferred such a
degree during its 55th commencement exercises held on Saturday at
the Philippine International Convention Center along Roxas blvd. in Manila. She
was the first woman given such an award by the school.
Mayor Uy is a
multi-awarded leader having reaped numerous citations from the different
government and private institutions such as the top ten performing cities in
2010 and seal of good housekeeping in 2011 from the Department of Interior and
Local Government (DILG), a national recognition for the city’s anti-drug
campaign from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Pink Orchid Award
from the Department of Health (DOH), child-friendly city from the Department of
Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), one-town, one-product regional award
from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the International Alliance for
Women (TIAW) 2008 World of Difference 100 List and many others.
