Feature: Villa Estrella Resort, a place to be this summer!

Margosatubig, Zamboanga del Sur prides itself with a stimulating environment that can be found in Villa Estrella Resort, one of the most sought after destinations this summer for both local and foreign tourists.  

Just an hour drive from Pagadian City, the resort situated along the national highway is set in a one-hectare area providing guests with a safe and spacious parking  ground.

Amenities/Facilities

“Within our resort are the amenities to make the customers’ holiday both comfortable and fun which include swimming pools for the kids and adult at a rate of P20. We also have 18 cottages for a minimal fee of P100, air-conditioned lodging houses at P650,  restaurant and a function hall,” says Roy Encallado, resort supervisor of the family-owned business.

‘‘We’ve built two fishponds for customers to enjoy fishing, weigh down their fresh catch and have it grilled by our cook.  They will pay as to the kilos of fish they caught,” he said.

“Beside the pond is the undergoing construction of a 3-storey building which will soon house the air-conditioned convention hall on the ground floor  that can accommodate up to 300 persons. The  2^nd and 3^rd floors will be for the hotel rooms,’’ Encallado beamed.

His father-in-law Alfredo Gomez did not expect that the area which he initially planned to put up an ice plant in 2008 will turn into a resort. The patriarch was happy on his change of plans seeing people enjoying and having fun in his resort.

Named after his mother in-law

When the resort was opened, Encallado said his father-in-law named the resort after the latter’s late beloved wife Estrella, whom the patriarch still fondly remembers.

The resort aims to provide customers with needed amenities at a minimal cost and is customer-friendly.

P15-M investment

A P15-M investment was poured for the construction of the resort to provide guests with the amenities for an enjoyable and unforgettable experience in the place.

“The center of Margosatubig is congested with function halls but there are no parking areas that provide a secure and comfortable stay for the guests, which they can only experience here,” Encallado related.

Family oriented hospitality

“We maintain a family-oriented hospitality that keeps customers coming back, being satisfied with the services we offer. We make sure that their stay at our resort will be as relaxed and comfortable as possible,’’ he concluded.

Tourists inflow

The resort is visited by hundreds of customers, both foreign and local tourists.

On holidays like Holy Week, Christmas, New Year, and during special days, the  resort is flocked  by customers, usually family outings  and gatherings such as weddings, birthdays, christening and reunions because of its accessibility. (GCC/ALT/PIA9-Zambosur)
