ZAMBOANGA CITY, Feb. 14 (PIA 9) - - The Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) recently received a P5.9 million newly constructed two-storey building emergency ward.
This emergency ward expansion project was culled out from the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of District 1 Representative Beng Climaco.
The new emergency ward is intended to offer better medical attention to patients during emergency situations.
ZCMC Chief of Hospitals Dr. Romeo Ong during the turned over ceremony thanked Cong. Climaco for her efforts in helping improve the delivery of services of the ZCMC which serves indigent patients not only from this city but from all over the region as well.
ZCMC is also set to receive a P16Million worth Cobalt Source, an equipment use in Radiation Therapy, a method used for patients with cervical, colon, rectal and breast cancers.
Meanwhile, the United Nations International Children Emergency Fund (UNICEF) thru Cong. Climaco’s initiative has designated a milk bank at the ZCMC as a move to help in the nutritional needs of new born babies and will serve as storage of milk of mothers.
All these efforts are in line with Cong. Climaco’s continuing health advocacy. (JPA/ PIA –ZBST)
