Pagadian City, Feb. 22 (PIA) – The Provincial Office of the National Food Authority (NFA) located in Tiguma, this city is happy to announce that at present, they have enough and comfortable stock inventory of rice in their bodegas.
NFA Provincial Manager Regino Delfin was pleased to inform the people in the province, that as per latest inventory made by their office, there are some 300,000 sacks or rice and 120,000 bags of corn stored in the different bodegas.
Manager Delfin said, that 60 percent of the rice inventory was bought during last quarter of 2010 – September to December. He assured the public that the present stocks inventory of rice would last for 72 days or more than two months continuous supply for the province.
If for instance the province will encounter a shortfall in its normal production, NFA can provide the necessary supply needed for consumption. NFA is ready to come in and provide in the overall rice requirements of the province, Delfin added.
Moreover, he said, last year they received some 500,000 sacks of rice from NFA-Zamboanga City and another 200,000 from NFA-Cebu.
With the present supply, Delfin assured the Zambosurians that base on the daily consumption requirements of the province of 5,600 sacks per day, our stocks can still stand for more than two months. (PIA9/CAL)
