Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur, 11 Feb (PIA) -- The Department of Health (DOH) in cooperation with Zuellig Family Foundation Inc., will conduct interviews to the poorest among the poor households identified by the Department of Social Welfare and Development. This intervention is to look into the health problems of the communities to enable DOH to examine how they could help these families and achieve the Millennium Development Goals by 2015 set by the United Nations.
Relative to this, the municipality of Bayog under the stewardship of Mayor Leonardo Babasa, Jr., through its Municipal Health Unit conducted sets of trainings to Community Health Team (CHT) in 5 batches on February 1, 2, 7, 8 and 9, 2012 at the Municipal Swimming Pool.
The training was facilitated by the municipal health personnel headed by Dr. Gretchen Dubricio. This was participated in by punong barangays, barangay kagawads (committee chair on health), midwives, barangay health workers, (BHWs), barangay nutrition scholars (BNS), day care teachers and Pantawid Pamilya parent leaders from the 28 barangays of the municipality.
This training aimed to equip the CHTs with appropriate knowledge and skills in performing their tasks especially in doing profiling in their respective barangays.
Among the topics and lectures discussed were; CHT Process, Roles of CHT Partners, Booklet ni Nanay at Baby, Family Guide to PhilHealth, List of Health Providers, Recording, Reporting, Logbook and hands on exercises.
Moreover, the training bears the slogan “Dapat walang babaeng namamatay sa pagbubuntis at panganganak, dapat walang sanggol namamatay.”
