BAYOG, Zamboanga del Sur – Samantha Yunting has bested other 10 candidates vying for the title of Ms. Bayog 2015 last night, May 7, at the municipal gymnasium here.

The beauty pageant was one of the highlights of the 48th founding anniversary of this municipality with the theme, “Kinaiyahan Amumahon, Kalinaw Palungtaron,  Katawhan Palagsikon aron kalamboan Maangkon” (Preserve the environment, promote peace, and motivate people for progress).

Mayor Loenardo Babasa Jr. said the pageant is an annual activity organized by the municipal government aimed at discovering the most beautiful and talented woman in the municipality.

“It has been a tradition of our municipality to hold the search for Miss Bayog every year   to provide entertainment to the public and to make the celebration in a festive mood.”

Meanwhile, Governor Antonio Cerilles, the event’s keynote speaker in his message said he is happy that with Mayor Babasa at the helm of the municipal leadership, developments are now felt by the people.

Cerilles particularly mentioned the social and infrastructure developments that are now happening in the municipality. “I encourage you to support vigorously the administration of your good mayor for you to achieve economic growth and development,” Cerilles appealed.

Miss Manilou Mercado of cluster was adjudged first runner-up, Ruby Curato- second runner-up, Rina Mae Englis-third runner-up and Mary Grace Bangcat-fourth runner-up.
