BAYOG, Zamboanga del Sur – Samantha Yunting has bested other 10 candidates vying for the title of
Ms. Bayog 2015 last night, May 7, at the municipal gymnasium here.
The beauty pageant was one of the
highlights of the 48th founding anniversary of this municipality
with the theme, “Kinaiyahan Amumahon, Kalinaw Palungtaron, Katawhan Palagsikon aron kalamboan Maangkon”
(Preserve the environment, promote peace, and motivate people for progress).
Mayor Loenardo Babasa Jr. said the
pageant is an annual activity organized by the municipal government aimed at
discovering the most beautiful and talented woman in the municipality.
“It has been a tradition of our
municipality to hold the search for Miss Bayog every year to provide entertainment to the public and to
make the celebration in a festive mood.”
Meanwhile, Governor Antonio
Cerilles, the event’s keynote speaker in his message said he is happy that with
Mayor Babasa at the helm of the municipal leadership, developments are now felt
by the people.
Cerilles particularly mentioned
the social and infrastructure developments that are now happening in the
municipality. “I encourage you to support vigorously the administration of your
good mayor for you to achieve economic growth and development,” Cerilles
appealed.
Miss Manilou Mercado of cluster was adjudged first runner-up, Ruby Curato- second runner-up, Rina Mae Englis-third
runner-up and Mary
Grace Bangcat-fourth runner-up.
The winners received cash prizes
and trophies.
