Zamboanga del Sur, Sept 21 (PIA) -- The Food and Nutrition Research Institute
of the Department of Science and Technology (FNRI-DOST), in cooperation with
the DOST regional offices, will hold a regional dissemination forum on the
results of the 2011 Survey on Updating of the Nutritional Status of Filipinos.
DOST-9 Regional Director Mario Capanzana said the forum will be held at the Celebrity Hall, Grand Astoria Hotel in Zamboanga City on September 28.
Capanzana said the activity aims to update key stakeholders in the government and in the private sectors involved in food, nutrition and health programs on the survey results.
From this, they can recommend possible action points for application of the results in local policy-making and program planning, he said.
Each regional forum will be attended by 45 participants, composed of members of the Regional Development Council (RDC), the Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator (RNPC), Provincial Nutrition Action Officers (PNAO), and representatives from the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the region involved in food, nutrition and health.
