DIPOLOG CITY, June
14 (PIA) - - Public school teachers in this city have been urged to stop
requiring of their students extraneous projects.
Addressing the teachers
attending the 114th Independence Day celebration held at the city
public plaza on Tuesday, City Schools Division Superintendent Victorina G.
Perez said: “Tama na ang mga projects na walang katuturan” (Stop requiring projects
of no value), adding “choose to be role models for the straight path.”
Perez also appealed
to the teachers to focus on nurturing their learners.
The parents also
got pieces of advice from Perez that they should act out their roles as models of
good manners and right conduct (GMRC) to their children. “GMRC starts at home
by being nice, saying please and thank you,” stressed the lady superintendent.
She also called on the
political leaders to lead their constituents to the right and straight path by
using the people’s taxes properly and judiciously. “As the election is
approaching, please stop buying our votes,” she emphatically said.
Perez is the new
schools superintendent of this city vice Teresita Cascolan who was transferred
to Dapitan City. (FPG/PIA-Zamboanga del Norte)
