DIPOLOG CITY, March 3 (PIA) – In keeping with the women’s month celebration, the provincial government of Zamboanga del Norte through its Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) will hold a provincial assembly to be attended by the different women groups throughout the province come March 30.
Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Grace Marylen Balisado-Sabal told the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) that around 300 participants belonging to the Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipino (KALIPI) are expected to attend the said gathering.
Aside from the presentation of issues and concerns affecting the women sector, a lecture on climate change will also be given to the participants by a staff from the Zamboanga del Norte Environment Management Office (ZANEMO) to suit the theme for this year’s women’s month observance which says, “Women Weathering Climate Change: Governance and Accountability, Everyone’s Responsibility.”
It can be recalled that KALIPI had been organized in every municipality in the province to serve as a venue of women to raise their concerns affecting their lives and express their grievance on factors that curtail their effectiveness. (FPG/PIA-Zamboanga del Norte)
