WESCOM soldiers bike for health

ISABELA CITY, Basilan, Mar 27 (PIA) – With a purpose of fostering camaraderie, friendship and promoting healthy lifestyle, bikers from Team Western Command (WESCOM) hit the road by conducting a biking activity dubbed as “Padyak Para sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran” in conjunction with its month-long anniversary celebration.

The 6th Civil Relations Group of the AFP reveals in a press release that the activity commenced at dawn of 14th of March 2012 and the participants headed out towards Honda Bay then back to Headquarters WESCOM.

“In this activity we promote not only for our good health but also camaraderie among us. We evoke to continue this all throughout and promote unity here in Puerto Princesa City as well as in the province of Palawan”, WESCOM Commander, LtGen. Juancho M. Sabban AFP pointed out as he spearheaded the said activity.

The activity serves as a wake-up call to the local populace to be involved in an active and healthy part in the government’s ultimate goal of “winning the peace” and ensuring a sustainable development of our society.

The activity was attended by a total of 118 participants from WESCOM Bikers, 570th Composite Tactical Wing (570th CTW), Naval Forces West (NAVFORWEST), Philippine National Police (PNP), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and other bikers from private groups and individuals such as Bike for Health/Bike for Work Group, 26’ers Bikers, Puerto Princesa Mountain Bike Society (PPMBS) and Capitol Bikers.
