Public urged to get involve and join fire safety programs

PAGADIAN CITY, March 1(PIA) -- Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP9) Regional Director F/Sr. Supt. Carlito Oceña called on the public to get involve and participate in any undertaking that concern fire safetyduring the simultaneous nationwide kick off ceremony of Fire Prevention Month on Thursday at the Pagadian City Central Fire Station.
  
Oceña said the government will ensure that fire prevention campaign will be shared to all sectors of society by giving them access to all mediums of information dissemination. “ Our campaign must have a lingering effect so  that ultimately the essential fire safety measures will be consistently made available by the public and eventually would create impact in their daily lives,” he added.

“We are exerting our efforts to make sure that our stations in the region will promptly respond to fire incidence and other related emergencies effectively and efficiently,” Oceña said.

Meanwhile, provincial fire marshall Supt. Gerson Sisona reminded the public to be always vigilant against destructive fires. “Not only that the BFP firefighters should be ready in fire prevention and suppression but also the whole community because fire prevention starts in our own home,” Sisona said.

City fire marshall Sr. Inspector Rheno Cimafranca thanked the volunteer fire brigades (VFB) from the urban barangays for the support they have extended during the kick off ceremony.The ceremony which was participated by the BFP personnel and VFBs commenced with a holy mass, followed by a motorcade and a brief program.  (JPA/GCC/PIA9-Zambosur)
