DIPOLOG CITY, March 7 (PIA) - - To keep the local government officials updated on the latest approaches to legislation and governance, Secretary Jesse Robredo of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has encouraged them to enroll in short-term technical courses offered by the Philippine Councilors League-Legislative Academy (PCL-LA).
Interested elective and appointive officials of the different local government units (LGUs) in the country are qualified to enroll in the program, which will provide them with new knowledge and skills in legislation and governance.
It was also learned that these courses are made available starting calendar year 2012.
The LGUs to which they belong would be the one to shoulder their tuition fees for the said training.
This training is part of the capability building programs for local government officials as stipulated under the PCL Constitution and By-Laws. (FPG/PIA-Zamboanga del Norte)
