DIPOLOG CITY, MARCH 30(PIA)--- The City Health Office of Dipolog City is slated to launch another round of Garantisadong Pambata program in the city during the month of April.
This year’s Garantisadong Pambata which carries the theme “Oplan: Alis Disease” is a program of the Department of Health in partnership with the City Government of Dipolog under the leadership of Mayor Evelyn T. Uy, various agencies of the government, and non-government organizations.
The program provides comprehensive medical services, promote positive childcare behavior, and educate the public, particularly the mother on matters concerning the importance of Vitamin A to child’s health.
During the launching, CHO will be giving away Vitamin A and Iron capsule supplements to children aging 12 to 59 months old, BCG, DPT, OPV measles, oral polio vaccine, and deworming immunization to infants and pregnant women.
Aside from this, CHO will be also giving free kiddie toothbrushes and education and information materials about safe and proper choice of educational toys.
Garantisadong Pambata Program, a bi-annual program of DOH and conducted during the month of April and October aims to reduce illness among children that usually result to their early death.
The Garantisadong Pambata Program was launched in 1999 in response to the call of the United Nation’s Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to reduce various illness that usually affects children. (ATR/PIA9-Zambo Norte).
