ZAMBOANGA CITY, Feb. 02 (PIA 9) - - In support of President Aquino’s agenda to “strengthen the bureaucracy by rewarding those who have done the rightful thing for the people,” the Civil Service Commission (CSC) opens its search for outstanding public officials and employees for 2012.
CSC encourages nominations from the people so that public servants who have rendered exemplary services can be given the opportunity to be recognized and rewarded.
Eligible to be nominated for the search are all officials and employees in the career and non-career service of the government including barangay officials.
CSC in a press statement said, for a nominee to be qualified, he/she must me in active government service at the time of nomination; must be rated “very satisfactory” for the last two performance rating periods before nomination and have not been charge guilty of any lawful offense at the time of nomination.
The same press statement informed that any person with wide knowledge of the exemplary contribution or work of an official or employee may nominate an individual or group for a specific category such as the “Outstanding Work Performance (OWP)” category and the “Exemplary Conduct and Ethical Behavior (ECEB)” category.
This activity is part of the mandate of the CSC and is annual undertaking of the commission to recognize government officials and employees who have displayed outstanding work performances.
This reward system aims to motivate state workers to improve the quality of service delivery and instill deeper and meaningful involvement in serving the public. (JPA/PIA-ZBST)
