DIPOLOG CITY, Jan. 26 (PIA) - - Zamboanga del Norte Governor Rolando E. Yebes has vowed to promote diligent and deserving employees of the provincial government before his term as governor ends.
Thus said the governor in a recent radio interview over RMN-dxDR hosted by Editha Pagente-Tomong, past president of the Zamboanga del Norte Press Club (ZNPC).
Governor Yebes also disclosed that the provincial government is currently implementing its rationalization program to make its offices efficient, effective and responsive in serving the public.
“Re-engineering of positions is necessary to get rid of redundant and obsolete positions,” stressed the governor.
Citing the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) as an example, Yebes found that there were so many “Capataz” (foreman) positions under the old staffing pattern. To streamline said office, the governor wanted to reduce the number of positions for foremen and increase the number of positions for engineers.
A similar thing was done to the hospitals run by the provincial government. There were hospitals that are now made birthing clinics as these were observed to have catered to a few patients only. Workers from these health facilities were then transferred to hospitals with the most number of patients.
Moreover, as incentives to dedicated and hard-working employees of the provincial government, the governor assured them of promotions from their present positions. (FPG/PIA-Zamboanga del Norte)
