ZAMBOANGA CITY, Dec. 19(PIA9) - - Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) gets 28 handheld radio sets from the city government as the latter’s continuing support to the police.
Vic Larato of the City Information Office said “Mayor Celso Lobregat personally turned over the 28 handheld radio sets worth 250,000 to the ZCPO through its Officer In Charge Sr. Supt. Edwin Soledad.”
According to Larato, the radio sets will be distributed to the different police units to strengthen their communication capability in the performance of their functions.
According to Larato, Mayor Lobregat during the simple turned over held at the City Hall Conference room said, “This is part of our continuing effort to support the local police as we have been and continuously constructing police stations, community police assistance centers in the barangays and other administrative support like office equipment.”
Larato also informed that the city is scheduled today, Monday, to inaugurate the Community Police Assistance Center (COMPAC) and barangay hall in Rio Hondo, a Muslim-dominated community.
Larato also shared “last week, the mayor turned over to the police the city government’s donation of four personal computers with complete accessories amounting to P121,000 in an effort to make the local police efficient in their administrative functions.”. (JPA/PIA-ZBST)
