Ipil town to turn-over water system project

By Emmanuel D. Taghoy

IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay – The municipal government here is slated to turn-over a water system project (level II) today to Barangay Labe and Barangay Timalang Lumbia.

The water system project, which will benefit 300 to 500 households of the said barangays, was started in July 2012.

Labe and Timalang Lumbia are barangays which lack supply of potable water supply.

Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Nimfa C. Diputado also disclosed that Ipil is one of the identified waterless municipalities. “This is why the LGU is making efforts to help its residents with this problem,” she added.

“Water is our priority as of this time in line with the poverty reduction programs of the government,” she said.

The water system project is a collaborative effort of the municipal government and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). (PIA9)
