ZAMBOANGA CITY, JAN. 8 (PIA) - - Offices concerned in the renewal
process of business permits are open during Saturdays and Sundays, this as
City Mayor Celso Lobregat instructed such offices to attend and accommodate the
flock of clients and expedite renewal process.
“City Hall
has extended its office hours effective January 2 to better serve the public
during the renewal period,” said City Information Officer, Sheila Covarrubias
in a press statement.
“Offices
concerned in the renewal process are open Mondays through Fridays from 8am to
8pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 8am to 5pm effective January 2 to 21,” informed
Covarrubias.
Covarrubias
said Lobregat has called on business owners and managers to renew their permits
soonest possible time and not to wait for the deadline to shun the hassle of
cramming and avoid payment of penalties and surcharges.
Deadline of renewal
of permit is on January 21.
“The offices involved in the renewal process
are the City Treasurer’s Office, City Licensing Division, the Tricycle
Adjudication Board, the Computer Services Division, City Health Office and City
Planning and Development Office among others,” Covarrubias enumerated.
She said “businessmen
have started flocking City Hall Wednesday, January 2 either to secure or renew
business/license permits although applications for renewal for 2013 started as
early as October 1st.” (JPA/PIA9)
