DIPOLOG CITY, July
13 (PIA) - - All is set for the 8th Zamboanga Peninsula Business
Conference (ZAMPENBIZCON) in Oroquieta City come July 18-20.
Dipolog City
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) President lawyer Paul G. Gudmalin told
the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) that the Oroquieta City Chamber of
Commerce and Industry (OCCI) will be hosting the conference in cooperation with
the Ozamis City Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the city government of
Oroquieta.
The conference,
which is anchored on the theme “One. Global. Filipino: Business Synergy through
Public-Private partnership at work,” seeks to promote a unified effort to
strengthen and stimulate SMEs in the Peninsula through networking and policy
support.
Some 200 business
and political leaders from all over the region are expected to participate in
the said activity.
Major topics to be
discussed during the conference include plans and programs for Mindanao by
Secretary Lualhati Antonino of the Mindanao Development Authority (MDA),
Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI)-Mindanao’s plan for
Zamboanga Peninsula, product presentations by banks and other financial
institutions, and presentation of programs and services by government line
agencies such as the Department of Tourism (DOT), Department of Agriculture
(DA), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department
of Science and Technology (DOST), Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA),
Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Trade and Industry
(DTI), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and Department
of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
It can be recalled
that the 7th ZAMPENBIZCON was held in Dipolog City last year with
