ZAMBOANGA CITY, June 5 (PIA)- - The Zamboanga Hermosa Chorale is one of the 9 Philippine choir contenders for an international choir competition to be held in Cincinnati, USA come July 2012.

The 7th World Choir Games is reputed as the “Olympics of choir competition”, where the Hermosa Chorale will be remembered in history as first-ever chorale group in Zamboanga which made it to the distinguished choir contest.

There are 379 choir entries from all over the world and the City’s finest choir group is the only group that is coming from Mindanao.

Besting 33 other choir groups from the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, Estonia and Singapore, the group bagged a Golden Diploma and a trophy for their magnificent performance in the Category B1-Mixed Choirs-Difficulty Level-II.

This month, the Zamboangueños will have the chance to experience back-to-back world class performances from the Zamboanga Hermosa Chorale and Ateneo de Zamboanga Concert Band thru the two double-header concerts.
